Highlights: Kreycik Elk and Buffalo Ranch tour - Lunch in Verdigre “kolache capitol of Nebraska”
Nestled down in the rolling hills along the scenic Niobrara River valley near Niobrara, Nebraska is one of the most picturesque views in the state. It is at this location that we will experience the Kreycik Elk and Buffalo Ranch covered wagon tours. We will arrive in the afternoon after a lunch stop in Verdigre, the “kolache capitol of the world”. Once at the ranch, we will take tractor pulled covered wagons through the hilly pastures where the elk and buffalo roam. Along the ride, our ranch guide will talk about the habits and raising of the elk and buffalo herds. As we ride through the scenic valley, you will invite the elk and buffalo to come up to the wagon for ear corn treats. You will be able to hand feed the animals from inside the covered wagons. Watch out for Boomer, the longhorn steer who lives with the buffalo herd and thinks he is a buffalo. Boomer likes to gallop up to the wagon and be first in line for treats. In the elk pasture Suzie loves to have her ears scratched by visitors. After three hours at the ranch and gift shop, we return in the evening to Omaha with fond memories of close encounters with elk, bison, Suzie and Boomer.
